Inuvik the polar bear returns to Copenhagen Zoo. Since October 2023, Inuvik the polar bear has been living with us temporarily while the polar bear enclosure at the zoo was being renovated.

As you may remember Inuvik is the daughter of Nöel and Nord.

Now that the renovation is complete, Inuvik was picked up at Scandinavian Wildlife Park last week. See how it went in the video in the end of this article.

Inuvik has been trained for the move and luckily the distance between Kolind and Copenhagen isn’t very long.

Of course, Inuvik was a bit suspicious first but soon she noticed there was no danger for her.

Brown bear cubs

After 3 months in the brown bear den the 5 cubbies and the two mothers could move to the big brown bear enclosure in this park.

The cubbies first stayed close to their mamas but after exploring the enclosure they allowed the lady bears have a little break. You can see it all in the video.

Keepers from Copenhagen Zoo came to bring Inuvik back home.

The photos are screen shots from the videos – that’s why they are unsharp.

  1. Das sind ja zwei bärenstarke Tierparkgeschichten !!🐻🐻‍❄️👍👌👏
Vielen Dank für den Bericht und die Videos dazu!!

  2. Dear Mervi!
Thank you for the update on Inuvik, who hopefully survived her journey well and has returned to a much nicer new renovated home in Copenhagen!
Thank you also for the cute pictures of the sugar-sweet bear cubs in Kolind.
When you see the bear cubs all together in a heap, you get a sugar shock… Every visitor’s heart will surely melt at the sight.
I wish all the little ones a happy future!

    Hugs

  4. Thank you very much dear Mervi.
Best wishes to Inuvik and the other animals in Skandinaviske Dyrepark.

  5. Dear Mervi,
I am shockingly in love with the little bears.
It’s great that the two mums get on so well.
They will probably be able to tell their babies apart.

The volume of noise when loading the polar bear is very frightening, but unfortunately it can’t be avoided because of the steel cages.
The main thing is that she has arrived safely back in Copenhagen. I would be very interested in the remodelling of her former stone desert, but unfortunately we no longer have a reporter on site.

    Kind regards
    Britta-Gudrun
