Gregor and Aleut – our polar bears – celebrated their 13th birthdays on the 2nd of December.
There were bear treats, mayonnaise, bear ice cream, salmon sushi cake and toys prepared by the keepers, which the birthday bears enjoyed very much.
One of the guys obsiously needed a break after eating the yammy food. 🙂
Hey! Is this really polar bear proof?
As a gift from the PANDA Foundation, Gregor and Aleut received juicy salmon flaps and play buoys.
The event was attended by a lot of Guests, who sang “Happy Birthday!” to the teddy bears, and then listened attentively to the stories of Caregivers Kasia and Maciek about the polar bears.
There were also contests with prizes for the guests. Those who knew the answers to the most difficult bear questions could win an eco bag with a teddy bear bottom and a book about the inhabitants of the Warsaw Zoo, prepared by Dream Music & Dream Books in cooperation with the keepers of the Warsaw Zoo predators.
There were also 1:1 scale bear mock-ups by the enclosure, where you can face the 3-meter-tall Gregor.

Es kommt einem noch wie gestern vor, als die Beiden
in Nürnberg die Treppen hoch und runter purzelten.
Kaum zu glauben, was für gewaltige Bären daraus
geworden sind. In Warschau wird sich sehr gut
um die Brüder gekümmert, sie haben tolle
Geschenke bekommen – bravo ! 🙂

They really have become two magnificent and mighty big bears!
The lovingly and wittily organised birthday party was great fun for them and for us too.
I also think it was a great idea to involve the visitors in a question and answer game about polar bears on this day! They are well looked after in Warsaw and are certainly the zoo’s favourites.

das sind wirklich zwei prachtvolle und mächtig große Bären geworden!
Das liebevoll und witzig gestaltete Geburtstagsfest machte ihnen und auch uns große Freude.
Auch die Idee die Besucher inn ein Fragespiel über Eisbären an diesem Tag einzubinden, finde ich große klasse! In Warschausind sie gut betreut und bestimmt auch die Lieblinge des Zoos.

I am happy about every zoo that celebrates the birthdays of its animals and spoils and presents them on these special days.
It shows that they are loved!
Aleut and Gregor were given a lot of presents and were able to do a lot with the loving and imaginative gifts. Super!
I think the pumpkin men are particularly cute, but the right and appropriate gift for polar bears were the two large blue barrels decorated with fire hoses, which were immediately taken up.

Ich wünsche den beiden Brüdern, die ich als kleine Eisbären in Nürnberg gesehen habe, alles GUTE für das neue LEBENSJAHR ❣ ❣ 🐻❄️🐻❄️
Die Bären haben mit dem Zoo Warschau ein schönes Zuhause bekommen, mit Menschen die sie lieben und wertschätzen.
Hoffentlich kommt niemand auf die Idee die Brüder mal umsiedeln oder gar zu trennen.

I wish you both a very happy birthday.
You are now 13 years old and I remember visiting you several times as little rascals in Nuremberg. You two are really handsome polar bear men. Your birthday party was great. There was delicious food and lots of cool birthday presents.
And then there was a birthday serenade.
It’s nice to see that you’re doing well.
