Polar Bears International created Polar Bear Week to coincide with the annual gathering of polar bears near Churchill, Canada, as they wait for sea ice to form on Hudson Bay so they can return to hunting seals. During this week, we draw attention to the threats polar bears face in a warming Arctic.

π»ββοΈ Happy Polar Bear Week!
Polar Bear Week is a global awareness week launched by Polar Bears International and held yearly in November. Its goal is to raise awareness about polar bears and their changing habitat, and to remind us that hope lives on β one action at a time.
During this Polar Bear Week weβll share daily stories from Arctic life:
βοΈ adaptations and survival strategies of polar bears
π research and tracking across the Arctic
π hope and actions we can take
π‘ Spend Polar Bear Week with us by following our daily posts here!
π Make sure to follow polarbearsinternational too.
You can watch polar bears live! Right now, a large number of bears have gathered along Canadaβs Hudson Bay coast. After a summer of fasting on land, theyβve walked to the shore to wait for the sea to freeze β like waiting for a restaurant about to open its doors.

Man kann nur hoffen, dass der EisbΓ€r die Herausforderungen
des Klimawandels und des weiteren Vordringen des Menschen
in seinen Lebensraum ΓΌberlebt.
Liebe GrΓΌΓe

Dear Mervi Perhaps November is why we need Polar Bears so much.
At a time when for us the long dark Winter months have started Polar Bears are able to resume their hunting on the ice while in dens below the snow mother Polars give new life with tiny cubs
Dear Mervi!
These are beautiful photographs of a polar bear mother and her cubs, which will hopefully inspire sympathy for these bears and a desire to protect them.
Hugs
