Polar Bears International created Polar Bear Week to coincide with the annual gathering of polar bears near Churchill, Canada, as they wait for sea ice to form on Hudson Bay so they can return to hunting seals. During this week, we draw attention to the threats polar bears face in a warming Arctic.

You can watch polar bears live! Right now, a large number of bears have gathered along Canada’s Hudson Bay coast. After a summer of fasting on land, they’ve walked to the shore to wait for the sea to freeze – like waiting for a restaurant about to open its doors.

in seinen Lebensraum ΓΌberlebt.

    • Dear Mervi Perhaps November is why we need Polar Bears so much.
At a time when for us the long dark Winter months have started Polar Bears are able to resume their hunting on the ice while in dens below the snow mother Polars give new life with tiny cubs

  5. Dear Mervi!
These are beautiful photographs of a polar bear mother and her cubs, which will hopefully inspire sympathy for these bears and a desire to protect them.

    Hugs
    Anke
