Lloyd is doing fine in Budapest

Rebecca has visited the Budapest Zoo and she could bring us good news of Lloyd.

Unlike Fiete Lloyd seems to have settled in Budapest quite well.

Lloyd ate with good appetite.

He also spent a lot of time playing in the water ….

…. and showing his swimming skils to the visitors.

lloyd10

Yes, it looks like Lloyd is quite satisfied with his temporary home.

lloyd2

Of course, the enclosure doesn’t look so cosy ….

lloyd4

…. but Lloyd seems to be a ‘man of the world’ so he can adapt well to new situations.

Sweet dreams, dear Lloyd! Even though you are doing fine in Budapest I hope you can move to another zoo as soon as possible. You deserve a good home!

Dear Rebecca! Thank you so much for the good news and the photos!

    Anita

    Thank you, dear Mervi!!
    Hugs,
    Anita

  3. Dear Rebecca,
    dear Mervi,

I am also very relieved to hear the good news about Lloyd, who is obviously comfortable and busy in what is unfortunately a very minimalist stone facility, grrrrrr
Still, I think he is very slim, so a few more kilos would suit him well with which he can hopefully move to Sosto soon.

Thank you very much for your current and positive report with kind regards!

  4. Dear Rebecca, dear Mervi!
Thank you for the update on Lloyd!
I too am somewhat reassured that Lloyd is halfway coping with the changed circumstances and the new environment.
But like Britta-Gudrun, I find him far too thin and I hope that he will soon put on some weight again – relaxed and calm in a different, suitable environment.

    Hugs
    Anke

  5. Dear Mervi and Rebecca I remember over the years noticing that some zoos prefer to keep their Polar Bears thinner than others. Blizzard in Hamburg was very thin. Russian Polars on the other hand are always round and fluffy.
Even poor enclosures can work if the bears have plenty of attention as Wuppertal used to demonstrate.
