Rebecca had a perfect timing when she visited The Karlsruhe Zoo on the 23rd of April. The keepers had arranged nice surprises for Charlotte and Lloyd.
Charlotte is wondering what the ‘mystery box’ is.
The best way to find an answer is to open the box.
Oh bear, the box is filled with ice and snow ….
…. but there’s something else as well! Wow, I can see meat and some innards – how yammy!!!
How great to deliver the meat in a fridge! 🙂
Dear keepers, the box is empty now.
Could I have some more?
Charlotte and Lloyd are still living separately but, of course, even Lloyd received a box.
Lloyd approached the box cautiously but he could smell that it has yammy contents.
I’m so excited! Shall I open the box now?
What luck I’m an expert in box opening!
Wow! I found a big piece of meat!
I think I take it to a safe place!
Well, I guess this spot will do so I can start eating.
After the good meal he rolled on the ground and in seconds flat his fur had taken a very off-white shade. 🙂 The snow from the box served as a nice cool cushion. 🙂

Erst die Beschäftigung und dann eine ausgesuchte Leckerei.
Charlotte sieht sehr gut aus, wie ich finde. Lloyd hat
sich zur Feier des Tages später geschminkt… 😀 😉

I am glad that Karlsruhe know how to give Lloyd and Charlotte enrichment. Boxes are always a hit with Polars and you can see from the photos how good this was.

Einen ganzen Karton voller Eis!! Das nenne ich doch mal eine coole Idee.
Und dann gab es auch noch eine große Fleischlieferung aus dem Karton!!
Ich freue mich zu sehen, dass die beiden Bären verwöhnt werden.

Vielen Dank für diese erfreulichen Bilder. Es ist einfach wunderbar, wenn man sieht, dass Zootiere geliebt, verwöhnt und beschäftigt werden. Die Kartons, gefüllt mit Schnee und Leckereien, sind eine sehr liebevolle und passende Überraschung für die Eisbären gewesen und man sieht, dank Deiner tollen Fotos, wie sehr sie es zu schätzen wussten.
