Yorkshire Christmas Special

23.12.2022 by Mervi

When I’m writing this I don’t know if there’s snow in the Yorkshire Wildlife Park but I hope so. Maybe the two legged creatures don’t agree with me but I’m sure the polar bears do. 🙂

Thanks to Sheila & Philip Baker, Pat Waldron and Ralph Morton we have been able to follow the life of the 8 polar bears in Doncaster during this year. I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart and hope our cooperation will continue even next year.

Our white fluffy friends send you their best Christmas greetings with a little help of my collages.

In our virtual polar bear world there’s always snow and ice during the Christmas season.

Tala loves the snow but she prefers a red ball to a snow ball. It’s easier to find if she drops it.

Just like all kids Indiana, Yuma and Tala are waiting for Santa Claus.

This cute rascal has found the gifts! 🙂

Tala caught sight of Santa and tried to take a photo. At least it looks like she has a POLARoid camera … 🙂

Sisu had a surprise guest – Rudolp the red nosed reindeer. Rudi brought Santa’s greetings from Korvatunturi in Finland.

Hamish wanted to dance polar bear polka – or maybe reel? – with Sisu.

What a beautiful tribute to the eight Polar Bears at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Flocke and her three cubs have certainly changed things. I join you in wishing the Rangers and animals at YWP a peaceful Christmas and New Year

  2. Thank you, dear Mervi

I always find your collages very enchanting.
Of course I wish the polar bears snow.
In Munich there is once again no snow at Christmas.
I wish all 8 bears a good and happy time.
For the two-legged ones The two-legged friends Sheila & Philip, Pat, Ralph and for Mervi I wish you a Merry Christmas.
I’m happy about every report from you and look forward to all that are yet to come.

    Hugs,
    Anita

  3. Dear Mervi!
Thank you for the wonderful collages. I think it is enough snow in Ranua now, not in YWP.
    Hugs

  4. Dear Mervi!
Thank you for your beautiful collages, which again show a pure winter fairytale world plus the very good looking polar bears from the YWP.
If polar bears in zoos were allowed to wish for something for Christmas, it would certainly be climatic conditions that correspond to their nature and that is frost, snow and ice.
While this wish may not come true for every bear, the Yorkshire polar bears can be optimistic that they will see snow this winter, although perhaps not in time for Christmas….
Thank you for not letting up in your efforts to get us in the right mood!

    Hugs
    Anke

  5. Dear Mervi,
I have to agree with everyone…..what a beautiful tribute you have put together on our 8 amazing Polar Bears here at the YWP. So far this winter we have had only cold frosty mornings. Hopefully, the bears will have their magical winter wonderland in the coming months and we can look forward to more of your fabulous collages in 2023.
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to all.
