Terve! Hello! It’s your Sisu in the Yorkshire Wildlife Park writing again.
This time I’m going to surprise you with a big secret of mine. I like cats!
May I present Queen Tschuna. She’s a beautiful tigress and she knows it. Just like all cats she believes she’s divine.
Many of you readers of this Magazine have cats. As you know you are tin openers kindly tolerated by your feline friends. 🙂 My biggest fan Mervi has often wondered how her cat Mimmi can be lying on the floor and still look DOWN on her when she’s standing up! Only cats can do that!
I can look down at anybody but, of course, I’m a mighty polar bear!
I look impressive even when I’m sitting – don’t you agree?
OK, back to Queen Tschuna. She has a healthy appetite but I think she could mind her table manners better.
Listen carefully, Sisu! My table manners are very good although sometimes the yammy food makes me forget them.
I love to swim in our Lake Polar Bear.
It’s so refreshing and keeps my fur white at least for some time.
Cats don’t like to wet their paws but Tschuna has a special water fall and she seems to love it. She doesn’t mind wet
Usually she uses her paws to keep herself clean and presentable. Just like all cats she’s very vain. However, I think she’s a jolly good fellow … hmmm, is it correct to call her fellowess instead?
Oh yeah, I like and admire cats but, mind you, only from a distance! 🙂
I have nothing special to report this time. We polar bears are all doing fine although the Summer has had some extremely hot days.
Dear Pat and Mervi!
Thank you for the nice story and the wonderful pictures. We met Tschuna as a child in Wuppertal. She looks gorgeously now.
I think Sisu enjoyed his day too.
Hugs

Hello Sisu,
You’re right, cats have a majestic aura in every position, and I’m glad that you live in such noble company with Tschuna, in separate enclosures, of course. Otherwise, King Sisu and the Queen would get a little too close for comfort.
By the way, tigers love water, but other cat species tend not to.
After eating, they groom themselves thoroughly. All you have to do is jump into the water – how convenient!
Thank you for your lovely reflections on yourself and your good fellowess!
Dear Pat and Mervi!
Thank you for this beautifully photographed and lovingly captioned post about Tschuna and Sisu. Both are iconic and magnificent representatives of their species. I too still have images of little Tschuna and her friend Daseep in Wuppertal in my mind’s eye. Tschuna is now 15 years old, which amazes me, and she looks fabulous. I can well understand Sisu’s admiration for her.
Hugs
Anke
