The keepers in the Karlsruhe Zoo make sure Mika has enough enrichment both in land and in the water. – In the end of the article you will find photos of Kap taken yesterday (3rd of June).
The little man loves his toys.
Sometimes the toy is bigger than Mika.
However, Mika knows what to do – the big ball serves as a cushion when the baby bear needs a little break.
What a great collection he has!
Often he swims close to the glass panel and presents his toys to the visitors.
Oh bear, what a cute little flirt he is! The visitors just love seeing him so close.

Of course, quality time with mama is always wonderful.
Games with mama are great but after the playing a baby boy needs a rest …
… and a decent meal served in the Restaurant Mama.
Finally a family portrait of Mika and his parents Nuka and Kap. Well, there’s a glass between them but they can see and smell each other. This photo was taken before Kap became ill.
These photos of Kap were taken yesterday (3rd of June) showing that Kap is eating and, of course, resting a lot. Knuti’s Magazine wishes him a speedy recovery and hopes he’s soon he’s ‘old himself’.

dem Charme eines kleinen Eisbären kann niemand widerstehen und so schmilzt auch mein Herz bei diesen bezaubernden Fotos von Mika. Besonders niedlich sind natürlich seine Aktionen an der Scheibe!
Für Kaps Genesung bleiben die Daumen weiterhin fest gedrückt!

Mika wird nicht nur von seiner Mama Nuka umsorgt, sondern auch von den Tierpflegern mit allerlei Spielzeug verwöhnt. Und die Besucher/Innen sehen ein munteres Eisbärenkind,das seine Spielfreude ausleben und an Mama gekuschelt ausruhen kann…👍🐻❄️🐻❄️😊

Danke für die süßen und erfrischenden Wasserspiele von Klein Mika. Es gehört zu den schönsten Erlebnissen in einem Zoo, Jungtieren beim Spielen zuzusehen, erst recht, wenn sie einem so nahe kommen und ihr Spielzeug präsentieren.
Man sieht leider deutlich, dass Kap noch nicht wieder auf dem Damm ist und ich drücke beide Daumen, dass er wieder ganz gesund wird!

Dear Petra,
What wonderful photos of little MiKa, and his loving mother Nuka. He seems to be having a fun time growing up and learning how to be a big bear. Some tender moments of mother and son show what a bond they have, at least for now.
We are happy to see Kap out and about, getting plenty of rest and good food. He has a nice “poodle” cut too, with his shaved spots. I always think how much Kap looks like his brother Raspi.
