28.5.2025 – Photos by Pat Waldron
Hello two legged creatures! I’m Hamish and as you may know I live in the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
The first thing in the morning is to make sure everything’s OK in my enclosure.
Then I check if there’s any activity on the other side of the fence.
No, there was nothing to be seen or heard so I went for a walk and found a big tree branch.
This needs a thorough examination.
No, it’s not eatable ….
…. but it’s very playable, hahaa! 🙂
After playing with the branch I did some aerobics.
Mervi, please, don’t try to imitate me. You would only get a lumbago! 🙂
Now it’s time to jump into the Lake Polar Bear.
Wow! Look what I found.
I don’t know what to do with this thingie. Any ideas?
Don’t you think I look like Elvis in this photo? Just check my nose … 🙂
I hope Pat could follow me during my extremely busy day!
Thank you for watching! See you soon again!
Dear Mervi,
dear Pat,
Pat, you are a good reporter at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park!
Hamish is rarely seen with such a white coat as this time,
and he seems to be very comfortable without his usual tan colour.
During the current solitary confinement, each of the bears tries to keep himself busy in his own way and any means is good for them.
The search for new material brings surprisingly strange things to light.
I hope you and your mates will soon be able to get together again and chill out at!
Many thanks and best wishes
Britta-Gudrun
Dear Pat and Mervi!
Hamish is a very handsome and charming polar bear and fortunately knows how to keep himself busy while the hormones are going crazy and the men are better off going their own way. Fortunately, his facility offers plenty of opportunities for him to kill time…
I particularly liked the pictures of him rolling around in the grass.
Hugs
Anke
Dear Pat!

Dear Mervi!
Thank you for the funny story.

Hamish ist ja in der Tat sehr beschäftigt und kann sich mit so einigen, selbst kleinen Sachen eine große Freude machen…👍🐻❄️😉
Dear Pat and Mervi
