Our wonderful cat Nalle has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and left Vesa, Mimmi and me in deep sorrow. It’s very hard to find words to say goodbye to you, sweet Nalle but I try. If this was written on paper it would be wet by tears ….
You came to us about 15 years ago together with Mimmi from a cat rescue home. I don’t know how your first months in life had been but I think you had had some bad experiences. You were very scared and shy. The first night you spent under our bed so we served your food in the bedroom. The following day you came out and started cautiously exploring your new home.
After about a week a miracle – at least for me – happened. You jumped on my lap and started purring. I can’t describe how happy I was!
Both you and Mimmi were still a bit suspicious. When Vesa and I put on the shoes and coats you were hiding under the sofa. I guess you were afraid we would take you away.
Little by little you began to trust us and became the sweet cat who loved to be caressed.
You were always curious about what you could find on the table. Sometimes you managed to pinch a bit of food, too.

Christmas without you will not be the same ….
Your purring was the sweetest music to our ears.
Talking about music – you loved to meow loud and clear. That’s why we also called you Pavarotti. Together with Mimmi you made a nice duo.
We had so many good years with you although you had some problems with your health. However, you always recovered well.
During the last few weeks of your life you started to get weaker and although we tried our best neither we nor the vet could help you. The last night was hell. It was awful to see you suffer and in the middle of the night we had to take the hardest possible decision.
Dear Nalle! You are no longer with us you will always have a warm place in our hearts. We are mourning but we know you’re beyond pain now. Thank you for the light and delight you brought to us!

Reading and watching this beautiful and loving tribute to Nalle made me cry too.
It is heartbreaking to have to say goodbye to a beloved pet, a dear friend and family member, especially when you have had to make the painful decision to end its suffering. I know from my own experience that there is no consolation for this and nothing I could write would make you feel better.
Mourn and cry for this beautiful tomcat, there is no way to cut this short.
But as you wrote, Nalle is no longer in pain, he had a wonderful life with you and you made it possible for him.
According to the laws of physics, energy is not lost. The love you felt for each other is still there.
Nalle is missing now, but he still loves you, just from somewhere else. He wants you to be well and knows that you in future will always remember him with a smile and a warm feeling in your heart.

Dear Mervi,
Your loving words about Nalle really touch my heart and like most of us here, we have all had to say goodbye to a beloved four-legged friend and know how you and Vesa are feeling now.
Nalle had a wonderful and sheltered life with you and Mimmi after you rescued him from a shelter. He made you happy in the same way that he found happiness with you.
His extraordinary vocalisations rightly gave him the name Pavarotti and the purring of a cat really is an indescribably wonderful sound.
He was also a very pretty cat with his tabby coat and the white muzzle with the cheeky white markings just above the tip of his nose!
Thank you for your lovely report and the beautiful photos. Nalle will remain in our memories too!

Liebe Mervi,
deine liebevollen Worte über Nalle gehen mir sehr zu Herzen und wie die meisten hier, haben wir alle schon einmal Abschied von einem geliebten vierbeinigen Freund nehmen müssen und wissen wie es dir und Vesa jetzt geht.
Nalle hatte ein schönes und behütetes Leben bei euch zusammen mit Mimmi, nachdem ihr ihn aus einem Tierheim gerettet habt. Er hat euch in gleicher Weise glücklich gemacht wie er Glück bei euch gefunden hat.
Seine außergewöhnliche Gesänge gaben ihm zurecht den Namen Pavarotti und das Schnurren einer Katze ist wirklich ein unbeschreiblich wunderbares Geräusch.
Er war auch ein sehr hübscher Kater mit seiner getigerten Fellzeichnung und dem weißen Schnäuzchen mit den dem kecken weißen Zeichnung direkt über der Nasenspitze!
Danke, für deinen liebevollen Bericht und die schönen Fotos. Nalle bleibt auch in unserer Erinnerung !

I couldn’t avoid to cry as well . . .
For sure you was and you still are a good Mama/’MATTE’ for your purring companions through life, as was/is it Vesa as their ‘HUSSE’.
I am thinking of you and sending a soft virtual KNUTi-style hug to you three feeling so much abandoned . . .
