Polar bear Shaina has been moved from the R. A. Shilo Zoo in Novosibirsk. Now she is in the Udmurt Republic. The zoo is located in the city of Izhevsk.
Despite all the snow storms Shaina came to Udmurtia, the zoo director Svetlana Malysheva told. – She came to us to live on our territory, because favorable conditions for polar bears have been created here.
According to the specialist, the bear Shaina moved to the zoo on Saturday, January 20. In addition to her, this institution has several other animals of this species.
– Shaina feels great, her appetite is good, we also see that her mood is good. She is adapting to our white snow, – said the zoo director. – In general, while we all get acquainted together: she is with us, we are with her.

Svetlana Malysheva specified that now the polar bear is under quarantine and will stay there for a month.
– She will have access to the snow and will be able to swim if she is in the mood,” said Svetlana Malysheva. – There’s nothing limiting her actions.

I’d like to wish favorable conditions for polar bears to every and any polar bear in the world, even though I know only too well that will unfortunately never be possible.
“She is with us, we are with her!” Is there a better way to express the intention to give one’s best effort!?
“There is nothing limiting her actions!” is another sentence right to my liking.
The only bitter pill I can see her is that the siblings SHAINA and NORDI are separated now. They were so close together – One can even not imagine the two separated now . . .

Warum trennt man die Geschwister so früh?
Mich erfreut die Nachricht keineswegs, weil ich denke, dass der Zoo nur wieder weiter Jungbrunnen züchten will. Und als Zwillingskind jetzt gleich ganz alleine in Quarantäne bleiben muss. Von dem vorherigen Geschwisterpaar haben wir nie mehr etwas gehört oder handelt es sich hier um einen der beiden? Ich bin etwas irritiert.

Shaina is one of the twins born in 2019. Her brother is Nordi. – Gerda’s youngest cubs are Belka and Strelka born 2022.
Mervi, danke für die Info. Dann wissen wir nun auch dass Shaina die ganze Zeit auch mit Nordi zusammen war. Sie waren wohl in einem für Besucher unzugänglich Bereich, weil auch Arkadi nie etwas über sie berichtet haben.
Nun bin ich doch etwas erleichtert.
