As you know Charlotte has left the Karlsruhe Zoo and moved to Fasano in Italy. Kap is for the time being the only polar bear in this zoo.
Keeping Kap happy is important now so the keepers had prepared a Christmas surprise for him.
Oh bear, it’s a big parcel!
Hmm, a little bird told me I will have a girlfriend soon – maybe it’s her in the parcel ….
Haha, just kidding! Of course, I know the parcel is too small for a big polar bear girl.
I’m smelling something yammy.
The keepers know that the way to a polar bear’s heart goes via his stomach! 🙂
I can use the parcel as camouflage when I want to hide myself from the paparazzis! 🙂
I must eat a lot so I will grow even bigger and more gorgeous.
I want to impress my bride to come!

Mirjam bringt es auf den Punkt. Es ist immer wieder erstaunlich, wie vorsichtig und geschickt Eisbären mit interessanten Dingen, Spielzeug oder Leckereien wie z.B. Nüssen umgehen können. Einerseits. Andererseits hält kein Spielzeug der Kraft der Bären lange stand…
Wie gut, dass Kap von den Pflegern beschäftigt wird, so dass Langeweile gar nicht erst aufkommt. Ich hoffe, dass es Charlotte gut geht und sie den erneuten Umzug und Verlust von vertrauten Bezugspersonen gut weggesteckt hat!

Mirjam sums it up perfectly. It’s always amazing how carefully and skilfully polar bears can handle interesting things, toys or treats such as nuts. On the one hand. On the other hand, no toy can withstand the bears’ strength for long…
How good that Kap is kept busy by the carers so that boredom doesn’t arise in the first place. I hope that Charlotte is doing well and that she has coped well with the new move and the loss of trusted carers!

Kap packt sein Paket tatsächlich recht behutsam aus.
Da hat man manchmal schon andere Aktionen bei Eisbären
gesehen. Auch ich hoffe, dass Charlotte sich gut in Italien
eingelebt hat und sich mit Grace versteht. Ob wir da mal
irgendwelche Informationen bekommen? Man müsste eine
nette Foto-Tante im tiefen Süden finden… 🙂
