Cool animals in the Summer heat in Wilhelma

Another hot Summer is here and both humans and animals have mixed feelings about the heat. Of course, the sunshine is wonderful but very often it makes the weather far too hot these days. I’m sure the keepers in Wilhelma are doing everything to keep their beloved animals cool and happy.

One can’t but love this sweet family with the cutest ears!

Hide and seek in the shadow

LJ Star usually observes the surroundings from his home …

… but he comes out for a moment when mealworms are served.

Fanaloka at Wilhelma. There are only 3 husbandries in Europe, Bratten Fleming in Great Britain, Neunkirchen and now Wilhelma.

Over the Whitsun holidays, five little pith horns were born at Wilhelma in Stuttgart – which of course do not yet have the imposing, spiralling horns with which the adult bucks fight their territorial battles.

As a result, the herd of marrowhore has grown to eleven animals. The cute fawns, a pair of twins and three single young animals, can already be discovered by Wilhelma visitors.

Snow leopard Lola likes the high grass because it gives shelter from the hot sun rays.

Nio and Duma have the same idea.
