The animals in Orsa – Please, don’t let us down!

When Krister visited the Orsa Predator Park he found beautiful polar bears who were happily unaware of their uncertain future. If they knew what is happening they would probable say: Please, don’t let us down.

This is one of Ewa’s favourite places in the lake.

Ewa’s and Wilbär’s daughter Miki is already a big girl but, naturally, she’s still mama’s baby.

Some friendly wrestling was on the schedule, too.

Where will they find a home that is as good as their home in Orsa?

  1. Dear Mervi, believe me, since I heard that terrible news, Orsa and all the animals have never been out of my mind. I am thinking of them daily and pray that a decent solution still can be found. The best solution of course would be that all can stay there in their beautiful paradise. Do miracles still happen???

  2. Dear Mervi!
I have already written so many comments on this topic in KnutisWeekly that it is hard for me to start all over again here.

Orsa and its conception have been a ray of hope for many years and a shining example of how people can treat nature and wildlife with respect and care, so that children, youths and young adults can learn from it. The economic aspect was not neglected either, the whole project worked well until it was to be sacrificed for profit optimisation.
Now, unfortunately, like everywhere else, the pursuit of profit and ruthlessness have gained the upper hand.
People who ski there in the future and rent holiday homes for a lot of money should know that their holidays were also paid for with the lives and blood of many wonderful animals of the North and that this paradise was destroyed for their private pleasure.
    It breaks my heart.
Miracles do happen, but here I am sceptical.

    Hugs
    Anke

Hier
    brauchte man keine künstlichen Schneehaufen,
wie in den Zoos im Süden. Und nun das: dieses
Leuchtturm-Projekt wird auf dem Altar des Mammon
geopfert – und keinen scheints zu jucken! Traurig.
