The polar bears in the Peak Wildlife Park have not only a wonderful home. They also have loving keepers who are very innovative finding new ways to keep their beloved Hope, Noori and Nanook happy.
The latest innovation is ‘Wilson Walrus’
I’m sure the keepers had as much fun as the polar bears when they brought the toy to the enclosure.
No doubt the big toy was very much appreciated. Noori was the first to catch sight of it.
A thorough examination followed 🙂
Soon Nanook joined his brother.
Of course, the twins wanted to take Wilson into the water ….
Hope decided to help her boys.
It wasn’t so easy but, naturally, the boys succeeded with a little help from mama.
The video is quite long but it really is worth watching! In the end you can how much fun the boys had with Wilson in the water.
😍 👍
Dear Mervi,
This walrus made of fire hoses is almost indestructible and a great challenge for the bears, who clearly enjoy it, both in and out of the water.
The keepers are very dedicated and are not deterred by the muddy terrain in winter.
A beautiful film and I also enjoyed watching the first one.
Many thanks for the detailed report and the impression it gives of this large area, which still lacks some shady trees, but this is certainly still being planned.
Hope and her boys have found a good new home and that’s the main thing, isn’t it?
Dear Mervi!
That must be love! Making this work of art from fire hoses was certainly as creative as it was laborious. The keepers at Peak Wildlife Park must be very proud of it and the bears will play with it and have fun for a long time. It reminds me a little of the homemade papier-mâché walrus that Anori received from her enamoured keepers for her first birthday in Wuppertal in 2013, but I’m sure it will last a lot longer…
Thank you for this great update on Hope and her boys!
Hugs
Anke
Thank you very much dear Mervi.
Best wishes to Hope, Noori and Nanook.
Dear Mervi!
The keepers did a great job. The bears are delighted.
Hugs
