Today (8th of December), we visited Henry Vilas Zoo to wish this handsome young polar bear, Borealis…aka BO a day early HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He turned 5 on the 9th of December. Roll out the barrel, Bo!
Hey, handsome Bo…..it’s your birthday tomorrow!!
“Really? Will I get presents?” I sure hope so.”

Borealis (aka Bo) was named after the Northern Lights. He was born Dec 9, 2018 in the Toledo Zoo. His parents are Crystal & Marty (deceased). Bo arrived in Henry Vilas Zoo in Nov 2020.

Bo is an cute bear. He has an adorable face.
Bo seems to love to play. He plays with whatever he can get his paws on. The cucumber is a cool toy. A barrel that needs to be revived is very funny.

Thank you for the pictures of this handsome young bear. Bo is playful and charming and you can’t help but like him. You can tell immediately that he is a beloved bear.
The giant rubber cucumber is a cool and fun toy and Bo seems to love it very much. Unfortunately, it has not taken this affection well…
