With the koalas, the keeper wanted to weigh them. He tried hard, but the ladies refused to cooperate and climbed away. Only the male animal let himself be weighed.

  1. Dear Ludmila and Uwe!

I think this is the first time we can see photos from the Dresden Zoo. Great!!

The bat eared fox is also something new for me. Very cute!

Many animals were active during your visit – the cheetah taking a walk, the penguins swimming and surprisingly you could meet a very active sloth, too.

I must laugh when I picture the keeper trying to weigh the koalas. However, he managed with at least one of them. The photo of him and the sweet male is lovely.

The orangs must look forward to their new house next year.

Thank you so much for this nice report!

    Hugs from Mervi

  2. Dear Ludmila and Uwe
Thank you for the beautiful photos and describing what each animal was doing.
Not many zoos have Koalas so you were especially lucky to see the keeper trying to weigh them. The zoo tv series about Duisburg suggested that despite looking cuddly they are bad tempered.
I hope Dresden wil give the Orangs a really interesting new home. Like Polars they are highly intelligent and enjoy enrichment and training with keepers for food

  3. Dear Ludmila,

The koalas are still relatively new at Dresden Zoo and yes, they are not cooperative when it comes to weighing, as we have often seen at Duisburg Zoo.

We rarely get to see anything from Dresden Zoo, which is why your report today is so nice, with lots of happy and active inhabitants.

    Thank you and best regards!
    Britta-Gudrun

    Anke
