Terve! Hello! As you notice I haven’t forgotten my native language. I’m getting quite multilingual here. I’ve learnt how to growl in English and German although sometimes I have difficulties understanding what Hamish says because he growls with Scottish accent.
Luckily we are all fluent in polarbearish!
I know many of my fans were worried when I had to leave Ranua but I can assure you I love to live here.
Mervi still calls me ‘baby’ although I weigh 700 kilograms. Well, she’s a real chicken mama. Can I call a polar bear lover ‘chicken mama’?
I have five friends – Nobby, Hamish, Luka, Indiana and Yuma – and they are all jolly good fellows.
Nobby and I get along so well that we can share our lunch!
After a good meal we like to dance polar bear polka.
It’s good for our digestion!
We have very big areas here so we can take nice walkabouts as Mick Dundee would say. There are always nice surprises on the paths, too. – Hmm, it looks like I have a stalker ….
Please, notice that the wound in my back is healing nicely and the fur is almost covering it now.
My pals prefer a cappuccino coloured furs but maybe I’m old fashioned because I prefer white.
I met Indie who seems to be imitating me …. 🙂 I’m proud to be a trend setter!
Before I stroll further I want to present three nice inhabitants in our park.
There rascals are Granada and Maverick.
This is one of the newborn maned wolf puppies. Isn’t it adorable – almost as adorable as I am!
OK, now I continue walking.

Thank you for showcasing Sisu here. The Polar Bears in Yorkshire are unusual in having so much space to roam while also having to live with other Bears.

Even if Sisu eventually weighs 750 or even 800 kg, you will still be able to see the “little” Sisu, the cute polar bear baby… Thank you for this lovely post and the beautiful photos from Yorkshire by Pat!
I suspect that the wound on his back has long since healed and the fur there is no longer growing back. Depending on the angle, you can sometimes see more black skin, sometimes less. I don’t think it’s that bad.
This male group of adult polar bears is certainly unique and it’s just great that they get along so well.
The only thing missing from their happiness is a winter with snow and ice and I begrudge them every single snowflake!

Thank you for the wonderful pictures of Sisu. He is a huge adult bear now. It is great that the bears are on the good terms with each other. Granada and Maverick are very cute. The mane wolf puppy is adorable.

Dreamlike because I think Sisu looks good and yet there are pictures where he looks like a very young bear.
By the way, boys need a trendsetter too, of course.

Hello my ‘Chicken Mama’, how perfectly you read my thoughts….kinda spooky ain’t it? 👻 Then again you have known me such a long time, from being such a beautiful little baby boy in Ranua, to the handsome hunk I have grown into here in Yorkshire. I do love it here, lots of room and my friends are extremely ‘bearable’, especially my best mate Nobby. Occasionally Indie freaks me out cos he gets grumpy when there is food about or if he is trying to sleep. I get the feeling we are ‘big celebrities’ here at YWP, lots of strange looking humans come, they stand for ages holding black pointy things. I feel sorry for them when it’s cold as they don’t have nice thick fur coats like we do. I recognise one of them, she came with her friend last year and actually hand fed me…..also Nobby & Luka (I think I got the biggest pieces!). I thing their names were Pat and Cookie……nice humans.

Dear Mervi, dear Pat,
I am a little bit late to write and thank you very much for the new report and the photos of Sisu our baby bear from Ranua. I am glad that Sisu’s wound is slowly closing and now hopefully there is no danger of infection with it.
Pat, your report from Sisu’s point of view is great!
That he is doing well in Yorkshie Park is clearly visible and he has also found his best friend Nobby there. Minor disagreements – especially about food with Indie – are quite normal.
Mervi, Chicken Mama means “Glucke” (mother hen in German), that is the chicken that is hatching its eggs and over anxious human mothers are therefore also called Glucke.
