A news day has began. Sizzel and one of her twins are checking if the visitors have already come to meet them.
To keep things interesting and to present the bears with new challenges, the polar bears were given a huge mortar tub today. Akiak had already loved playing with this thing.
Sizzel was very excited about the new enrichment. She had fun with it for a long time.
The twins were quite suspicious about the whole thing. At first they kept a safe distance for quite a while. It was wonderful to watch how curiosity gradually won over their fear and it was Kaja who was the first to try out whether and how to play with the huge tub.
On this day, you didn’t know where to look first, at the playing Sizzel or her children, who didn’t quite know what to make of the loud, big thing.
Kaja also had a lot of fun with this beacon.
When Gisela took this photo Sizzel threw the ball at the same time. 🙂
After some throwing exercises Sizzel joined her twins. The Queen and her princesses!
I don’t know if this is Skadi or Kaja but the little lady certainly has girlpower – and patience!
Oh, you stupid ball! Did you have to fall down?
Never mind – I’ll try again!
Noria had en elegant green stripe on her back.
Lili had found a treasure.

Akiak is doing fine in Zoo d’Amnéville. Melons are always a welcome treat for a polar bear and Akiak sure appreciated this yammy snack. – Source & photos by Zoo d’Amnéville

Danke für die viele Bilder. Kaya und Skadi wachsen schnell. Es ist sehr schön, dass sie keine Zeit für die Langweile haben, es gibt immer unterschiedliche Sachen zum Spielen. Die Melonen eignen sich für Spiele und Essen 🙂

oh, so many beautiful photos from two different zoos!
I am always surprised about the enormous forces, with which
the bears work on their partly huge toys.
Mervi, your fitting title “The Queen and her princesses” is of course very obvious at the moment.
Delicious melons are always a good reason to forget the toys for a short time and
and the sucking of the big bears by mummy is always very touching to watch.

Ich bin immer wieder über die enormen Kräfte überrascht, mit denen
die Bären ihre zum Teil riesigen Spielzeuge bearbeiten.
Mervi, dein passender Titel “The Queen and her princesses” ist zurzeit natürlich sehr naheliegend.
Leckere Melonen sind immerh ein guter Grund das Spielzeug
kurzfristig zu vergessen und das Nuckeln der großen Bären bei Mama ist immer sehr berührend anzusehen.

Das neue Spielzeug ist eisbären-erprobt und wird den Zwillinge, wenn sie sich dann mal trauen, damit zu spielen, viel Freude bereiten. Natürlich auch den Besuchern.
Und, wie ich es verstehe. Man weiß gar nicht, wohin man gucken soll.
So ist das bei aktiven Bärinnen.

Liebe Gisela und liebe Mervi!
Es ist wie immer eine Freude, die lebendigen und tollen Fotos von Sizzel, ihren Zwillingen und Noria und Lili anzusehen. Die beiden Kleinen sind ganz schön gewachsen, aber neugierig und spielfreudig wie eh und je. Man sieht auf jedem Bild, wieviel Spaß sie mit jedem neuen Spielzeug haben, nachdem sie ihre anfängliche Skepsis überwunden haben.
Auch Noria und Lili scheinen sich ganz gut zu vertragen.
Also alles im grünen Bereich bei den Eisbären im Rostocker Zoo.
Danke auch für die Fotos von Akiak! Von ihm würde ich sehr gerne mehr erfahren…
