This time we celebrate Knut’s monthly birthday with some wonderful photos taken by Gudrun in October 2010.
This was the special Knut-Ecke where he spent a lot of time.
Even in this ‘stony landscape’ he seemed to be figuring out how to bring green plants to it. We all remember how green his small enclosure was.
A nice pose for the visitors. He knew how to do that ….
He was so beautiful, he was so lovable …..

Mich machen diese Bilder doch auch immer wieder traurig.Verabschiedet hab ich mich (für immer) von Knuti im Okober 2010,als er auf dem untersten Steinabsatz um die Ecke gegennüber des Vogelhauses lag,so verloren…😢💓

Knut was a very small Polar Bear. Nobby and Numa are like him in size.
I dont know if he chose the corner to be closer to his visitors or avoid the Golden Girls or both.
I was optimistic that once he and Tosca were able to play with each other things might have got better.

I also feel very, very sad about these photos, because he had lost all the self-confidence he had learnt with Giovanna on this stone ledge to rescue and escape from the female superiority with the Golden Girls….

In 2010 Knut looked very thin. I am still sad about this time.

These photos also trigger sadness in me. It wasn’t a good time for Knut. It hurt to see him like this. We would have so much wished this dear bear a good and long life!

the year 2010 it was the first and only time I saw Knut in June, he was with Giovanna together in the old cosy enclosure…
