Jimmy’s Farm September Part 5 – All creatures great and small

15.10.2024 by Pat Waldron

Jimmy’s Farm offers home for many different species – both great and small. That’s why I borrowed the title from James Herriot.

On our way to the bears enclosures, you pass by many smaller animals including lots of goats, sheep and meerkats to name just a few.

On our way to see Diego, the brown bear, you walk up the path through the wood where it opens up into beautiful grassland with more grazing sheep, horses, pigs and chickens.

Looking down into a wooded enclosure, if you are lucky, you will find Diego. The only sighting of him this visit was in the house when the keeper was giving a talk.

Beautiful Diego……sadly I didn’t get to see him out and about in the wood. 💕

This photo of Diego was taken by Ranger Alex at Jimmy’s Farm on the 13th of October. As you can see Diego is doing fine and looks happy and relaxed.

Heading back to the polar bear enclosure we passed by the capybaras, zebu, goats, donkeys and macaques.

  1. Dear Pat!
Thank you for another wonderful series of pictures from Jimmy’s farm. It is obvious that the animals, big and small, are doing well and are being lovingly cared for. My favourite photo is Diego in/on the hammock. But of course I also liked all the others: the wolves, meerkats, goats, capybaras, pigs, etc.
The title of this beautiful series of pictures brought back memories of a wonderful BBC TV series about three vets in Yorkshire, which I loved. In Germany it was called ‘Der Doktor und das liebe Vieh’. I’ve hardly missed an episode and am even looking forward to reruns here…

    Hugs
    Anke

  2. Dear Pat,
the variety of animals, especially the smaller ones, fits well with the name Jimmy’s Farm, which, as Anke writes, can be associated with the memories of the Scottish Veterinär James Herriot.

Thank you for the lovely tour and best wishes!

  4. Dear Pat!
Thank you for the pictures of many cute animals. I think Diego is ready for hibernating.
    The arctic wolves are beautiful.
    Hugs
    Ludmila
