Gerda has taught many polar bear skils to her daughters and now it was time for a swimming lesson. First the twins were very cautious and seemed to be discussing who would jump in first.
The other one found a solution!

The water is quite warm.
Hmm, it’s not so bad ….
…. but the water is so wet – our paws will be wet and our furs will be a mess!
Well, maybe the water will make my fur look even more beautiful ….

Mama Gerda encouriges her babies to jump in.
Mama, are you sure this big wet thing is good for us?
Dear child, if it wasn’t good and safe for you I wouldn’t ask you to jump in!
Dear children! You must understand that every decent polar bear can swim!
Finally the twins jumped in and found out they are already excellent swimmers! Mama Gerda can be proud of her off spring!
After the swimming lesson Gerda could swim back stroke ….
…. and a little later she had well deserved snack in the water. 🙂

Mit dem Wasser haben die Bärchen jetzt ein Element,
dass im Laufe des Sommers noch für viel Spaß und
Ablenkung sorgen wird. 🙂 Erstaunlich schnell
adaptierten sich die Zwillinge mit dem
kühlen Nass, ein herrliches Spiel
konnte nun beginnen… 🙂
Dear photographers, dear Mervi!
What are these again wonderful and cute photos of this cool polar bear mother and her little ones! The water looks good, clear and clean and the already existing swimming skills of the fun-loving little bears are astonishing.
The enclosure leaves a lot to be desired, but the bears are doing well and again it becomes clear that the enclosure is not everything.
Commitment of the keepers, a relaxed and caring mother, a sibling to play with and the opportunity to let off steam in clean water are at least as important.
