The Novosibirsk Zoo has revealed the gender of the polar bear cub born to Kai and Gerda in December 2025: it’s a boy.
As far as I know the baby boy hasn’t got a name yet. I would like to call him Mischa!
The cub is doing well: healthy, active, and curiously exploring the world around him. It’s already clear he’s inherited both his parents’ strength and charm.
Access to the happy family’s enclosure is currently closed to prevent visitors from disturbing the mother and her cub.
The baby bear is very tiny compared to his mother.
Is there a little treasure hidden under the snow … 🙂
A tongue exhibition 🙂
Of course, staying close to mama makes the little guy feel safe and secure.
Gerda and her baby have many tender moments every day.
Training is needed on the slippery stairs.
A study in cuteness:
On behalf of the readers of this magazine I wish Gerda and her baby bear all the best!

🐻❄️🐻❄️❤
Alles GUTE wünsche ich den beiden!!
🐻❄️🐻❄️💝
Dear Arkadi!
Like all polar bear cubs, the little one is absolutely adorable, and Gerda, as an experienced mother, is as loving and caring as ever! These are pictures that would melt almost anyone’s heart.
I wish them both all the best! Thanks for sharing!
Hugs
Anke
