Today it’s Valentine’s Day which we in Finland call ‘Ystävän päivä’ (Day of Friendship) and in Sweden ‘Alla Hjärtans Dag’ (All Hearts’ Day). I would like to call it ‘Day of Friendship Without Borders’.
Here are some examples of different kinds of love and friendship:
Love birds
Cute friendship
Ebony and Ivory
It takes two to tango
Moon river
Good friends share everything
Ewa and Wilbär
Mother’s love
Father’s love
Love between brother and sister
Different kind of friendship – Ranzo and the bird
Of course, Knut inspired me to make several collages for this special day. Here are some of them from the days when we wanted Knut and Flocke to be a couple.
Dear Mervi!
What a beautiful Valentine’s greeting with which you have outdone yourself again!
Thank you so much for these sweet and heartfelt pictures and collages, some of which almost brought tears to my eyes!
Love is often connected with pain and loss, there is not always a happy ending.
But there are the happy moments that enrich our lives and that we can remember.
I hope that everyone experiences a beautiful and loving moment today, with a kind word, a friendly gesture and maybe a flower or two or other expressions of love to make the world a little kinder!
A smile, a kind word, a friendly gesture or a hug costs nothing and does so much!
Hugs

Das ist ein so liebevoll wie liebenswert in Wort und Bild gestalteter Beitrag. Da geht einem – wie vermutlich voll beabsichtigt – voll das Herz über. . . . Everything provoked an “awwwwwww. . . .” at my end – but especially I love:
“LOVE BETWEEN BROTHER AND SISTER” and the “KNUMBRANDT-painting” 🙂
Thank you very much, dear Mervi, for all this inclusive of the piece of Finnish “‘Ystävän päivä’”, as I love it as well because it’s so extraordinarily strange to me and makes me smile (nicht von oben herab, was uns Deutschen ja gerne mal unterstellt wird, sondern vor reinem VERGNÜGEN)!
Thank you very much dear Mervi.
Wonderful photos.
