Sisu wrote this story in December 2019 but I think it deserves to be published once again. This was his last Christmas in Finland.
Welcome to my home! Our zoo looks wonderful in the Christmas dress. The snow and the lights are a great combination.
I know many of you have been dreaming of a white Christmas but I also know that in many places the dreams remain just dreams. But don’t you worry – I’m sending you lots and lots of snow and whiteness!
The snow makes almost invisible but, of course, you recognize my velvet eyes and licorice nose! 🙂
People usually get very stressed before Christmas and I have a good solution how to cool off! Just lie down on the snow and put your nose under it! Satisfaction quaranteed!
I love the sound of snow under my paws! I wonder if my big brother Ranzo misses the snow ….
I had hoped the world leaders would have done something for our planet this year but unfortunately they haven’t done anything! I feel so sorry for my fellow polar bears in the wild.
However, i try to keep an optimistic mind and hope the next year will be better!
I can smell Christmas!
Snow on my nose makes me feel real COOL!
Please, don’t forget our little feathered friends. Even the squirrels may need your helping hand.
A refreshing bath makes me very chic-and-charmant’ so I’m presentable when Santa comes to visit me.
Finally I wish all the reporters and readers of Knuti’s Magazine a peaceful and happy Christmas. Hopefully it will even be white for many of you!
Thank you very much dear Mervi and Marko.
Wonderful story and photos.
Best wishes to Sisu.
Dear Mervi!
Thank you for your beautiful winter pictures and collages! You can see how much Sisu enjoys the snow and loves to roll around in the white splendor. For polar bears the real bliss!
I begrudge him and all polar bears every single snowflake!
But I personally start to freeze at these pictures, especially the one where he “refreshes” himself in the ice-cold water.
All the more I now appreciate warm wool sweaters, thick socks and a functioning heater…
I wish everyone a cosy weekend!
Hugs
Anke
Dear Mervi,
I am very happy about your memory of Sisu’s snow paradise in Ranua 2019 and think that he will miss this element in Yorkshire. But on the other hand he has many nice buddies there with whom he gets along great.
Sheila, Philip and Ralph were able to convince themselves of this extensively on site.
Whether we will have a white Weihnact is still uncertain, but it will certainly be cold, given the current icy temperatures.
Sisu, I wish you and your buddies an enjoyable and nutritious Christmas season!
Best wishes
Britta-Gudrun
Dear Mervi
Thank you for the wonderful pictures of Winter Wonderland.
I also thank Sisu for his guided tour of his then snowy home.
The pictures and also the collage are a dream.
I wish you, dear Sisu with your new friends a wonderful Christmas. You are right to feel sorry for the wild polar bears. I feel the same way.
I also think of the birds and the squirrels. I always give them something to nibble on and they are welcome to take nuts.
Hugs,
Anita
Mervi There has been ice and some snow in Yorkshire this year for Sisu.
All the best from Oxford
Dear Mervi!
Sisu had a wonderful childhood in Ranua.
I think now he is happy in YWP.
