Last week the first snow flakes of this season were dancing in the air before landing on the ground in the polar bears’ enclosures. Belka and Strelka were a bit surprised but very glad about the white stuff.
Shall we welcome the snow with a polar bear polka?
Let’s take our toys to the ground …
…. because we must inspect the construction of our ‘bedroom’.
We think it seems solid enough to carry the weight of the snow. We will soon have more of it – at least we hope so.
Oh bear, our favourite season is soon here!

Autumn and Winter are shaking paws and living side by side for a while until it’s time for Autumn to retire.
Dear keepers, after checking that our enclosure is ready for the snow we are hungry!!!

The early snow is wonderful for the polar bears, and you can clearly see how happy Belka and Strelka are and how it has awakened their playful spirits. I am delighted for them. Thank you for the lovely photos!
Personally, I could do without winter, snow and ice for a while longer…
