8.4.2024 – Photos by Hans Muskens
Otis in the Dierenrijk Nuenen is the only polar bear cub born in Europe this season so, naturally, the little boy is a big star in our bear world for the time being.
Walks on the green grass with mama Frimas are daily on the schedule.
Sometimes the baby bear needs a rest.
Otis tries to eat solid food …
…. but so far Restaurant Mama offers more suitable nourishment for the little boy.
It’s amazing how quickly a polar bear cub learns to swim!
Oh bear, what’s that green stuff stuck on my nose?
Mama, the water was so wet that I need a towel to get my fur dry again.
Dear boy, I haven’t got a towel but you can dry your fur between my paws.
Now my fur is dry and I can just relax.
Afterwards Frimas and Otis admired themselves in the water mirror.
Wilbär looks very happy in this photo. Maybe he knows now he’s a father of a lovely cubbie ….
I’m a cute polar bear boy even if I say so myself. I believe you agree with me!
Thank you for watching! Now it’s time for a ‘mama snack’ and a nice nap!
Otis is just adorable, what a sweet baby. The photos are magical. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much dear Mervi and Hans.
Best wishes to Otis, Frimas and Wilbaer.
Einfach bezaubernd, diese tollen Fotogrüße von Otis, Frimas und Wilbär, die mit genau den richtigen Worten beschrieben sind ❣👌🐻❄️🐻❄️🐻❄️💝
Dear Hans!
I agree with the previous comments.
These are exactly the kind of scenes you want to see when it comes to a little polar bear and his family. I think the pictures of Otis playing in the water, swimming and putting a seaweed mask on his face are particularly cute.
Thank you so much for showing us!
Mervi, thank you for editing and your affectionate subtitles.
Hugs
Anke
Dear Hans,
dear Mervi,
these photos are heart-warming and I also admire Oti’s early swimming skills. The algae mask is great, we knew similar Ftos from Knut.
Mum Friemas now has her paws full showing the little one the world in which he can hopefully grow up healthy.
Thank you Hans and Mervi for the lovely entry!

I love this little heart breaker too!
“Oh bear, what’s that green stuff stuck on my nose?” + “Dear boy, I haven’t got a towel but you can dry your fur between my paws.” + many more are unsurpassable – the photos + texts.
Thanks to Hans Muskens and to Mervi for sharing!
