Yuma opened the football season

21.1.2026 – Photos by Pat Waldron

It has been snowing and it may snow again but Yuma has decided to declare the football season for polar bears open!

Of course, a ball is a very important thing when you play football – but first a nice swim with the ball. At the same time a thorough quality control was done, too.

Time to bring it to land.

Now I need to find a nice spot for training!

This looks acceptable. I can see my feathered supporters are here, too. 🙂

And now, let’s start kicking!

  1. Dear Pat!
Balls are great toys for polar bears, especially when combined with water, where they can swim and play with them endlessly. I wouldn’t be surprised if these intelligent and playful animals also play football with a ball.
The little lions have grown quite a bit, but they are still adorable.
The pictures and the text by Mervi go together wonderfully once again. Thank you very much!

    Hugs
    Anke
