The International Polar Bear Day was celebrated with lots of surprises for the polar bears – both eatable gifts and toys.
Of course, there were yammy ice bombs and a basket filled with fruit and vegetables as well.
It was a very cold day – about 25 minus degrees. Not so good for the visitors but perfect for our white fluffy friends.
Gerda and Kai have already been together but the treats were served them separately – maybe to avoid ‘arguments’.
Gerda seems to be eating with her eyes first. 🙂
Our keepers have again done a fantastic job with the treats!
Ooops! What happened? Not a big deal – I can eat directly from the snow plate, hihihii ….
Gerda, can you hear me? I guess you’ve got the same kinds of treats as I have.

It looks like Kai is taking the carot to Gerda but unfortunately the door was closed …
However, in the afternoon the lovely couple could be together again.
The first days of reunion have gone very well.
