Water games and walkabouts in Yorkshire

The polar bears in the Yorkshire Wildlife Park enjoy the Winter in many different ways. Chacun à son goût as the French say.

Hamish tried to solve the red Rubik’s cube conunbrum. 🙂

Hamish Trying to solve the red Rubik’s cube conundrum

This isn’t very easy but I’m doing my best.

Hmm, what’s this. Shall I pull it or what ….

hamish3

I think I’m close now ….

…. but I don’t reveal the solution for you! You can figure it out yourselves! 🙂

Indie had found a big blue tube.

Hahaa, they think this is unbreakable …

… but I’m going to break it …

…. sooner or later …

… maybe later …

Yuma prefered to stay on the shore.

A walkabout in the enclosure is very good for my condition!

Has the night been frosty? The grass feels very wet and cold.

Nobby posed so nicely …

… before having a sip of water.

Then he found something green with needles.

This is a little Christmas tree. Maybe I should take it to our cave and bring it out again next Christmas?

nobby4

Let me have a break while I’m thinking!

After a busy day Indie and Yuma bought a ticket to the Napland.

Oh bear, they look so sweet together!

  2. Dear Pat and Mervi
Thank you for keeping me informed about the chaps as YWP. I wish I could travel but it is more tiring these days and I need warmer weather.
YWP knows how to keep the Polars occupied and give them an exciting programme each day.
    They have some real stars
Nobby of course was famous in Munich and would make his mum Giovanna proud of him
Luka has really enjoyed having grass to roll in after his years on concrete.
Sisu is looking good and has got used to the Yorkshire weather.
Hamish is now the largest Polar Bear in a European Zoo. He is heir to Victor.
Flocke’s boys have found a place in the set up. Indy may rival Hamish.

  3. Dear Pat and dear Mervi!
It’s always heart-warming to see polar bears playing!
It’s wonderful that they get toys in Yorkshire that they can do something with and that don’t break immediately. The boys make a good, agile and happy impression!
Thanks for this welcome update from the YWP!

    Hugs
    Anke

  4. Dear Pat and Mervi!

    hugs
