Saving salmons in the Polar Bear Bank

12.12.2023 – Photos by Sheila Baker

Terve! Hello! It’s your Sisu calling again. I haven’t got any news for you but I want to make sure you will understand the importance of a nice nap.

Today Yuma and I made us comfortable in this cave.

Suddenly the rangers called my name ….

… but I pretended I didn’t hear them.

What a sly fox I am!! 🙂

Yuma decided to leave the cave so I have it all for myself now.

There’s nothing like a nice nap in a cosy cave.

I want to remind you that when a young bear sleeps it’s like saving salmons in a bank! I can assure you I’ve got lots of savings!

I’m off to the Napland now but I hope to see you soon again.

Nobby is usually a very active sleeper but this time I want to show you a nice photo of the golden boy awake. 🙂

  1. Ein gutes Nickerchen hat noch nie geschadet.
Sisu und Yuma machen es richtig. 😉
Danke für die witzigen Fotos & Kommentare!

  2. Dear Sheila, Philip and Mervi

We all know that a nap or two in between is very healthy.
Sisu is living proof of this. He looks healthy and happy.

I love the picture of the Golden Nobby though. I can recognise his mum Giovanna in him. A beautiful polar bear man Nobby has become.

    Best wishes

  3. Like the expression “active sleeper! :-)))

Terve! Beautiful SISU. You look simply smashingly good!
Even in the ‘activity’ of your sleep 😉

It’s very kind of you and of your best friend/in Mervi
to spoil us often with signs of life lately and with gorgeous pics!

Thank you, the both of you.

  4. Mervi, …..when a young bear sleeps it’s like saving salmons in a bank!
If the saying is also true for humans, then I have lots of savings, because I also sleep in broad daylight.

The photos of Sheila are great and I love seeing Sisu and other bears asleep. Sleeping animals and babies are so adorable and peaceful!

Many thanks to you and Sheila with love!

  5. Dear Sheila, dear Philip and dear Mervi!
What a beautiful, humorous and inspiring contribution at this time!
I also really like the expression “very active sleeper”!
I’ve always been envious of animals, especially bears, who can and are allowed to rest or sleep in winter. It looks cosy in Sisu’s den – for a bear – and I can understand why Sisu stays lying down…
The golden Nobby looks well, but also rather tired.

    Hugs
    Anke
