While little brother Brodie was busy playing with his canu the big brother Hamish was chilling.
Brodie is staying in the Yorkshire Wildlife Park for the time being and the rangers (keepers) have treated him with a nice red canu.
Oh bear, is there a red shark in our Lake Polar Bear?
No, just kidding – I know what it is.
This canu seems to be ‘fit for fight’.
However, I don’t think it’s big enough for me.
After all – I’m a giant and the canu is so small ….
An ancient Roman called Pompejus said ‘Navigare necesse est’ but I don’t think I will ‘navigare’ with this canu. 🙂
Oh, I see there’s a nice little ball in the water, too.
Which enrichment shall I prefer? I really can’t decide …
… so I prefer them both!
Brother Hamish was having a walkabout in the enclosure.
He investigated whether Miss Spring had brought the bushes back to life.
Oh well, it’s still February so I’d better take it easy and just wait.
Thank you for watching!
I’m off to the Napland now! See you soon again!

Dear Pat!
It’s always a joy to see a full-grown polar bear playing. How wonderful that the keepers gave him special toys to play with. When I see Hamish lying down to sleep, however, I feel a wave of spring fatigue wash over me…

Liebe Petra,
