When you see the photos of Wolodja in the Diergaarde Blijdorp / Rotterdam Zoo you will understand why I call him King Wolodja.

Our Wolly has a healthy appetite …
…. so he looks gorgeous with a beautiful fur.
The birdies are always there to keep our big boy company.
Wolodja doesn’t seem to mind even if they often try to pinch his food. 🙂

I visited Wolodja and Nivi on Saturday 9 September. This was the first day of my recent trip to see bears in zoos. The photos here show how impressive Wolodja has become.

Wolodja is a very handsome polar bear man, but he doesn’t have much in common with the Teddy he was as a young bear. But then, he is almost twelve years old and already a father.
Somehow he makes a sad impression on me and I really hope that his future will be a happy one!

my comment from yesterday disappeared somewhere in nirvana….
Of course I am also happy about the great photos of “King Wolodja”,
who is doing so well in Roterdam. He looks splendid and shares his food with the ravens and crows without envy.
What happened to the bond with NIVI? Are they now kept separately? They were seen dancing together in love in October ’22.
