12.12.2022 – Photos by Imbi Taniel and Inari Leiman
Old Man Winter has made his entry in the Tallinn Zoo so Friida and Raspi can enjoy their favourite season wholeheartedly.
These two photos were taken before the snow fell.
It looks like Raspi is getting a little inpatient … Where have all the snow flakes gone?
….. but his wish came true! The snow flakes started dancing in the air! 🙂
Raspi is sniffing the fresh air.
He really is a mighty polar bear – just look at those paws!
If you’re wondering why Friida has a black spot on her sid – here’s the explanation:
Tallinn Zoo: “Two weeks ago Friida had a health check – a veterinary specialist from Denmark was in Estonia at the time. The bear is fine, except that she now has a small hairless patch on her side, which has been trimmed for an ultrasound scan, and everyone can see for themselves that the polar bear’s skin underneath the white-looking fur is indeed dark.”
Nice walkies in the snow
Oh bear, this really is my kind of weather – or should I say my cup of cod liver oil? 🙂
Hmm, I wonder if the water is cold enough now …. 🙂 – Mervi’s note: Dear Raspi, I’m freezing just watching this photo.
On behalf of the readers of this magazine I wish Friida and Raspi a very happy Winter time together!
Dear Imbi, Inari and Mervi!
Thank you for the report from Tallinn. It looks cold. Raspi and Frida like such weather. They both Look beautiful.
Hugs

Dear Mervi
Rasputin and Friida look very relaxed in the snow in Tallinn. Rasputin would be the largest bear if he was still in YWP.
Thank you very much dear Mervi, Imbi and Inari.
Best wishes to Friida and Raspi.
Dear Mervi, Imbi and Inari!
Thank you for the pleasant update from Tallinn and many great photos!
Raspi has truly become a big, imposing and impressive character bear.
He seems to be well prepared for the winter. I am very happy for him and beautiful Friida that they can enjoy the snow now.
Thank you for explaining the bald spot in Friida’s coat!
Hugs
Anke
What a nice surprise to meet RASPI and FRIIDA in TALLINN ZOO again in gorgeous photographs and nic/funny subtitles. The both of them are a beautiful couple and FRIIDA even surves to help educate people on specific features of polar bears (impressive very black spot in midst of her fur.
PS:
Doesn’t EVI have the opportunity anymore to pay a visit to her home zoo in Tallinn or has she moved from there?
