29.3.2022 – Photos by Eva Löfdahl and Johanna Berglund
The polar bears in the Orsa Predator Park are happily unaware of the plans of closing their home. Wilbär has left the park and lives now in Nuenen in the Netherlands. However, his move was due to the fact that there are two mothers with cubs in the park for the time being.
This was the first time Eva met Hope and her babies who now have names – Noori and Nanook. I had hoped one of the kids would have got the name Ursa 🙂 …. well, maybe next time! Hopefully there will be a ‘next time’ for a cub birth in Orsa!
Noori and Nanook are still very small compared to mama Hope.
Napping is on the schedule several times a day. What could be a better place for a nap than soft snow close to mama.
It’s feeding time for Ewa and, of course, the visitors hurried to experience this special moment.
Ewa is patiently waiting while the keeper is commenting the feeding.
Now we’re talking! What took you so long???
Ewa and Miki treasure hunting
I don’t know what the ‘treasure’ is but both bears seem to be very interested.
Ewa loves to take a swimming tour in the ice cold water. Brrrrrrr!!! Miki sometimes wet her head in the water but didn’t jump in. She prefered to admire her cool mama. 🙂
Eva had the great pleasure of meeting Miki very close.
She came to the glass window many times. I’m sure she instinctively knew she’s a good friend who’s trying to save her home.
The following photos were taken by Johanna Berglund on the 27th of March.
The ice is still thick enough to carry even a big polar bear like mama Hope!
Hello there! Look what I found – what a treasure this is!
C’mon Sis, let’s go and play in the snow ….
Catch me if you can! 🙂
Dear Eva and Johanna! Thank you so much for these lovely photos! On behalf of the readers of Knuti’s Weekly I wish you and all the animals and keepers in Orsa a very pleasant Spring time!
