The early Spring in northern Finland is very white so the animals in the Ranua Zoo can enjoy the white element a few more weeks.
Venus and Nord (in the photos) haven’t met each other yet. The EEP coordinator has recommended Ranua to avoid breeding this year.
The white giants are sniffing the air and feeling the scent of each other. Of course, they’re both very curious to know what’s on the other side of the wall between the two enclosures. When the mating season is definitely over Venus and Nord will meet.
Oh bear, I just have to wait …. well, at least I can take nice walks in the snowy enclosure!
They say that Venus is a very beautiful polar bear lady. I hope she will find me handsome ….
The lynx sisters Lusija and Jakobine are newcomers in the zoo. For the time being there are no plans to have a male lynx but maybe later there will be a gentlelynx. It’s wise to avoid breeding if there aren’t concrete plans where to place the babies when they grow up.
I’m sure the beautiful sisters are quite happy living together.
Jemma woke up in the beginning of March.
Oh bear, is there even a white version of me? 🙂
Dear tree, would you like to dance with me? Or shall I just shake you? 🙂
Malla slept a little longer but now she’s also having lots of fun in the snow.
Maybe I can find a way to tease the keepers ….
Here I come ….. would you mind having a snow shower?
Manu loves to stroll around in the snow.
Since I can’t meet the lady on the other side of the wall I spend a lot of time sleeping ….
…. and dreaming.
Hei hei! Tapaamisiin! – Bye bye! We’ll meet again!
