Even this Christmas is different from what we’re used to. The evil pandemi just doesn’t want to retire. If I could I would buy a one way ticket to covid-19 to some place from where it couldn’t escape!
Due to many problems with my laptop and my ‘striking hand’ I haven’t been able to make so many new Christmas cards but I guess you can accept some ‘recycled’ oldies. 🙂 Maybe you willl recognize some of our beloved polar bears?
This year has been another corona year but the world goes around and many things have happened in our virtual bear world.
Many old friends have left us. I will only mention Snow Lily and Nord which are both deeply missed just like all the other bear angels. I want to think they are all wandering in the eternal snow fields.
On the 27th of December we received the sad news that even Katjuscha in Berlin has left us at the age of 37 years. Now the last of the five polar bears – Lars, Tosca, Nancy and Knut – is gone. So sad!
White Christmas is always in our dreams ….. However, if there’s no snow our fluffy friends bring whiteness to our Christmas.
We waited so long for a cub in Orsa and last year Ewa gave birth to Miki. To our big surprise Hope has given birth to twin cubbies! Unfortunately a visit wasn’t possible this year but, of course, we wish to be able to visit all the polar bears in Dalarna during the year 2022.
Polar bear babies have been born even in Rostock where Sizzel has twins and in Scotland where Victoria gave Hamish a little brother or sister. Even in Russia and Japan there are newborn polar bears but I don’t know so much about them. I wish the mama bears and their babies all the best!
Finally I want to thank all the readers for having been here during the year 2021 and I hope you will visit this magazine even next year!
Due to the pandemi it hasn’t been easy to visit any zoo/animal park this year but many brave reporters have posted wonderful reports anyway during the year. The year 2022 doesn’t seem to be different but I hope I can continue to keeping this mamazine going.
My sincere thanks to all the photographers and reporters who have contributed with fantastic stuff for Knuti’s Weekly during the year 2021! Without you it wouldn’t be possible to keep the ‘wheels rolling’.
Even though the corona prognosis for the next year isn’t very good I hope things will get better. Let’s not loose our faith and optimistic mind!
MAY YOUR CHRISTMAS BE HAPPY AND BRIGHT!
MAY THE NEXT YEAR BE A BETTER YEAR!
