Gerda’s thoughts after the kids have left her

When Gerda comes out of the den it looks like she’s still waiting for Nordi and Shauna to follow her. However, she soon realizes that the kids have left. Gerda is a clever polar bear mama and knows that when the birds can fly they will leave the nest.

According to the zoo Nordi and Shauna are now together in a separate enclosure made especially for them. However, the visitors can’t see them so there are no new photos of the sweeties. Where and when the twins will leave Novosibirsk is not known yet.

Maybe a hearty breakfast will put her in a better and happier mood.

Now that the twins have gone Gerda can have all the toys for herself. The balls have no fur but she loves to cuddle them anyway. Are the balls substitutes for Nordi and Shauna ….

Well, it’s no good to be sad! Gerda finds a way to entertain herself.

Isn’t it nice the keepers have brought me these toys!

I’m very aware of the fact that I’m a beautiful polar bear lady but rolling in the snow keeps my fur shining white and makes me extra charming.

What an adorable fur ball! Gerda looks like a young cubbie in this photo.

I wonder what Kai is doing now …. Does he know I’m alone again …. It would be so nice to meet the gorgeous bear man again!

At the same time Kai is coming out of his den. Wow, the door is almost too small for this big bear.

I can smell Gerda! She’s so close but still so far away.

This guy’s in love and hasn’t got so much appetite- I guess he’s dreaming of a dinner with Gerda.

I’m sure Gerda would gladly accept an invitation to a nice dinner together with Kai.

I must calm down …. maybe a mouthful of snow will cool me off …. 🙂
