Quintana came to us last Summer from the Tierpark Hellabrunn in Munich. Aron arrived in the Autumn last year from the Tallinn Zoo in Estonia.
Our two polar bears now share the same enclosure. They had their first ‘date’ last week and we can already state they make a magnificent duo! 🙂
After recommendations and in co-operation with the EEP coordinator we allowed Aron and Quintana to meet.
During the first meeting the young bears were playing happily together. Of course, the keepers even served the bear couple some yammy snacks.
Even though the first meeting went surprisingly well and smoothly our vets and keepers are keeping an eye on Aron and Quintana all the time so they can be sure there won’t be any ‘mishaps’.
