20.2.2019 – Photos by Marko Junttila, Ranua Wildlife Park
Terve! Hello! Days are getting longer even in Ranua and the sun makes the snow shining white. It’s a good sign of the coming Spring. As you may already know the early Spring in northern Finland isn’t green but the snow and ice are slowly melting away. What you mean by ‘Spring’ comes here in late April or in May.
Can you find me? Sometimes the visitors are totally clueless when they come to visit mama and me.
They only see whiteness everywhere – especially if we hide our heads in the snow …. 🙂
I can give the visitors a little hint: Please, keep looking for a licorice nose, velvet eyes and well pawicured claws!
When I’m not playing hide-and-seek with the visitors (and sometimes with the keepers, too) I play with my toys.
This ‘rug’ makes a nice cushion when I want to take a short nap.
A nice walkabout in the whiteness keeps me in a good shape.
What to do now?
Hey, there’s a huge snow ball!
It’s my big ball that I’ve rolled in the snow. Maybe it’s a bit too heavy for throwing …. …. but if I can’t use my paws I use my head instead! As you know by now I’m a very clever polar bear boy.
That’s it this time. I wish you all a wonderful Winter/Spring time! I’m not sure what to wish because this February seems to be very warm for this time of the year.
Yours bearily, Sisu
