15.3.2017 – Photos by Marko Junttila, Ranua Wildlife Park
As I promised earlier today there are now new fantastic photos from Ranua. You’ll find the previous report under the column ‘Ranua’.
Of course, the photos talked to me again – they usually do ….
Hello! I’m Venus and I proudly present my son to you. He hasn’t got a name yet so let’s call him Nalle (teddybear in Finnish) until he will have a ‘proper’ name.
Look, son, we were lucky with the weather – it’s snowing! What could be better?
Those white things falling down are called snow flakes.
Wait a minute! Mama’s making sure the enclosure is safe and secure for you.
Nalle wanted to smell the walls – maybe to make sure he would find his way back to the den …. 🙂
Hmm, the walls seem very solid and ‘polar bear proof’!
Dear son, I hope you like the snow. We will have it for some time now but it will melt away and then you can put your paw prints on the green grass.
Aren’t the snow flakes beautiful!
Let’s just sit here for a while and admire the white landscape.
Mama, snow is very nice but it’s boring to just watch it …..
Oh bear, there are a lot of things we can do …..
I think we can start with a snow diving lesson! Follow me!
Oh mama, it’s soooo fun! And the snow tickles my nose – I can’t stop laughing ….
It’s always easier to get downwards than upwards but Nalle managed it with a great bravour.
There are so many visitors watching us! Mama, I wave my paw to them.
A little break that didn’t last so long ….
Mama, I know you’re an old lady but would you like to play with me?
What did you say? May I remind you that I’m NOT an old lady – but, of course, I want to play with you! What a rascal you are! 🙂
After some games in the snow even the baby bear was getting a little tired …..
….. and together with his mother he was ready for a nap.
On behalf of the readers of Knuti’s Weekly I wish Venus and Nalle all the best. Have a wonderful Winter time! Naturally, I wish the same to all the keepers!
