30.9.2022 – Photos by Hans Muskens
The monkeys are always active – sometimes with eating or playing – sometimes thinking big thoughts.
Come on, it’s happy hour now and I’m sure we’ll get some very yammy snacks!
You were right! It really is a happy hour!
Oh my, what shall I eat first?
This guy has found a comfortable place for his ‘happiness’.
What is this? I only got cucumber!! Where are the other veggies?
Time for a nap but first I must check if my breath smells ….
A nice photo of a mama and her baby in the green grass.
The whole family wants to take care of the baby.
You’re not so small anymore but believe me – you’re still my baby, too!
What a good day it has been! We say bye-bye now and take a trip to the Napland!

Dear Hans & Mervi
You brought us wonderful
pictures of the different
apes and their offspring.
Oft wirken die Affen
menschlicher als die
Menschen selbst. 😉
Greetings
Chris
Dear Hans
dear Mervi,
the family life of apes is extraordinarily caring.
Unfortunately, chimpanzees are also very quarrelsome, they have that in common with humans in addition to their social skills.
Mervi, your captions are great again and very appropriate.
Thanks to both of you and best regards!

Dear Hans and dear Mervi!
Thank you for these beautiful, lively and expressive photos of the monkeys in Nuenen!
We know all these behaviours from our species as well: producing and acting like a tough guy, bunkering down treats and securing one’s own advantage, eating the prey with delight, enviously comparing with what the others have and tenderly caring for the offspring…
I like the chimpanzees very much and the gibbons with their baby are especially pretty.
Hugs
Anke
Dear Hans and Mervi!
This is an interesting report. I like to watch chimpanzees. The gibbons with a baby are lovely.

Dear Hans
Dear Mervi
Thank you for your “awesome” report from Nuenen.
The wonderful and expressive pictures speak without words, but the words you put into my mouth are just perfect and made me smile.
Hugs,
Anita
Thank you very much dear Mervi and Hans. Best wishes to all the monkeys in Nuenen.
