7.12.2025 – Photos by Gerti Bichel
It was a long time ago we saw photos of Nöel and Lynn in the Copenhagen Zoo (Zoologisk Have) in this Magazine. In mid November Gerti visited the two polar bear ladies so it’s my great pleasure to present her photos here.
Even Inuvik (the daughter of Nöel) was there but I don’t know if she’s in the photos below. Now we know Inuvik has travelled to north – to Ranua Wildlife Park in Finland. She will join the females Venus and Tara. There’s a brand new polar bear area that will be opened for visitors on the 13th of December. I hope I can show you photos later on in this magazine.
I don’t know who’s who but both bears look very healthy and beautiful.
Why do they have green marks on their foreheads? Maybe to make it easier to tell them apart. It helps when it’s time for medical examinations or things like that. My guess is as good as yours!
After these photos were taken it’s been snowing in Copenhagen so the ladies could enjoy at least a short touch of Winter.
This time of the year the water in the pool is refreshingly cold. Very suitable for us polar bears!
Thank you for watching! No more photos, please! 🙂

Liebe Mervi,
Hugs

Dear Gerti and dear Mervi!
These two white beauties are certainly an asset to Ranua. They will love the winter there, and I hope they settle in well. I wish them good luck and a good life!
Hugs
Anke
