Despite the heat the polar bears in the Yorkshire Wildlife Park have been quite active. This time you will meet Hamish and Nobby – two jolly good fellows.
Hamish had found something – looks like something eatable.
Nobby noticed Hamish’ treasure and wanted to get from him.
Hamish wasn’t willing to give it away easily …
…. if you want it – come and catch it in the water!
To Hamish’ great surprise Nobby managed to pinch the ‘treasure’.
Oh my, even that birdie wants it’s fair share.
Hamish was a bit angry and upset …
… and gave Nobby a piece of his mind.
After some well chosen growls Hamish decided to be friends with Nobby again.
No hard feelings, old chap!
Hamish found a new toy – a nice blue bucket.
This bucket can be used in many ways.
Look, what a nice drink bowl it is.
I can also use it as a Summer hat. I don’t want to burn my face in the hot sunshine so this is more than perfect!
A hot day made the bears sleepy so Hamish and Nobby took a nap side by side.

These are great pictures of a friendship between male polar bears. I’m glad that the two get along so well and are enjoying the summer together. My favourite pictures are the ones with Hamish and the blue bucket. Polar bears have to stick their noses into everything, and I always find it hilarious…

I also really like these two bear friends, they have fun with everything.
Sometimes they share their treasures and sometimes they don’t, without getting into serious arguments.

The big males in YWP are much more relaxed in the Summer once their hormones calm down.
Nobby learnt from Mum Giovanna and Sister Nela how to steal food.
