15.6.2025 – Photos by Imbi Taniel and Inari Leiman
On the third of June Inuk was introduced to Skadi and Kaja. I don’t know why Imaq wasn’t in the enclosure. According to the zoo staff the first meeting went quite well. You can see a video in the end of this article.
The photos were taken before the meeting.
Imaq and Inuk had nice walks together in the sunshine.

Sometimes they walk on opposite directions, too.
The girls really love each other. Hopefully they will learn to get along with Skadi and Kaja, too.
Polar bears love snow and ice but the warm sun rays aren’t so bad either! 🙂 I can’t tell who’s who but they are Imaq or Inuk.
Even Skadi and Kaja enjoyed the sunny weather.

Of course, swimming is on the schedule daily. On a warm Summer day the water always looks inviting.

Thank you very much for these great summer photos from the zoo in Tallinn! I hope that the two pairs of siblings will soon get used to each other and make friends.
I especially like the photo of Kaja rubbing her back. It’s great when polar bears are relaxed and feel at ease.
Britta-Gudrun, es sind zwei Geschwisterpaare. Imaq und Inuk kommen aus Aalborg und Skadi und Kaja aus Rostock (Töchter von Sizzel), alles Weibchen.

Inuk und Imaq zeigen sich mit leichter “Sommerbräune”, während die norddeutschen Mädels noch “schneeweiß” sind…
Die Zusammenführung von Kaja und Skadi
mit Inuk verlief nicht ganz unproblematisch, doch mit der Zeit entspannt sich die Lage zwischen den vier Mädels hoffentlich… 🐻❄️🐻❄️🐻❄️🐻❄️✊
