The temperatures in Novosibirsk are extremely high for this time of the year. It’s still early June and there’s a heat wave!
However, the early mornings are quite pleasant so the sweet couple Gerda and Kai can feel like a ‘cool couple’. 🙂
How on earth can Gerda’s fur be so white? I almost need sun glasses when I watch her shiny fur. 🙂 She sure is everything a polar bear lady must be – White, fluffy and roundish! 🙂
Kai went for a swimming tour and found a blue can in the water. He certainly knows how to play with them!
The blue thing can serve as a sun hat, too! 🙂

Oh bear, there are two cans.
Being a gentlebear Kai decided to take one of them to the lady of his heart. As usual the keepers have prepared an ‘Arctic Corner’ for Gerda and Kai. Hopefully even Belka and Strelka have some snow in their enclosure.
The two legged males bring flowers to their ladies but it’s incredibly stupid! How can one play with flowers in the water? I just ask!!
Dear Gerda, come out and see what I have for you.
Belka and Strelka have done some measuring and noticed they’ve both grown a lot since the last measuring.
I’m taller than Long Tall Sally now! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Water games are on the schedule daily.

Die beiden Youngsters sind wirklich sehr gewachsen und das Fell von der Mama ist großartig weiss und flauschig. Kein Wunder, daß Kai so verliebt in sie ist.

Thank you for this great series of pictures from Novosibirsk! All the polar bears look great, Gerda is snow-white and fluffy, Kai is charming and playful and their daughters are just wonderful, as beautiful and lively as you could wish for…
Kai is my favourite this time. The picture of him carrying the blue canister on his head is hilarious, just stunning! And then he’s also sharing his toys with his sweetheart, which makes him a particularly adorable bear.
