There’s Spring in the air for our two polar bears, who have been sniffing each other from a distance for months. Our keepers have been watching their behaviour for a long time – waiting for the right time to bring them together so we can hopefully have cute polar bear cubs in December. 💘🐻❄️
This photo is a collage because I have no photos of the two together.
I made a couple of screen shots – unfortunately not so good!
It looks like Malik and Raspi immediately liked each other.
Raspi followed Malik …
… and soon they were having fun in the water.
It wasn’t without nerves, but see for yourself how the first ‘date’ it went.
Raspi is looking great, all white and fluffy. He seems to like Malik pretty well. I hope they have some good times together. Two of my favorite bears.

It is good to see Raspi following Malik like he used to follow Flocke.
The underwater glass and deep pool will be familiar to him from Mainland.
He will have plenty to occupy him.

The first date seemed to go quite well and I wish the two lovebirds a wonderful time together. However, I find it less nice that Raspi has become a travelling bear!

Das Dasein der Eisbärenmänner als Reisebären ist nicht so schön.
Trotzdem scheint die Annäherung von Raspi und Malik positiv ver-
laufen zu sein. Wird es dann im Winter Nachwuchs geben…? 🙂

The stone enclosure in Aalborg has become a little over-mossy green in the meantime, but that doesn’t change the bleak design.
Raspi came to the Trallala very quickly, let’s see, and yes, the polar bears are usually travelling bears. I don’t know whether the enclosure for mother and cub can be separated, so I’ll ask Ralph, who knows his way around Aalborg.
Ralph, please tell me again the names of the first couple, where one of them walked up and down the same path forever?

Rasputin uns auch Malik sehen gut aus und mögen einander, wie es aussieht. 😉
