Since my last visit in July, Flocke seems to be less anxious whilst still being protective of Tala, she doesn’t appear to be as ‘on edge’.
Flocke is as beautiful as always!
Flocke, Tala (in the background) and Ewa
Interestingly, mum is still allowing her baby to suckle!
Tala (303kg) has put on weight and, according to the keeper, weighs more than her mum Flocke (290kg).
Flocke
Flocke & Tala ……still never far apart from one another!
Mum and daughter went through to the small enclosure where Flocke walked around.
Flocke & Tala were in the house being bottle fed oil which they absolutely love. Hope was still nowhere to be seen and Ewa was having a great time in the water.
Flocke & Tala enjoying oil from a bottle before licking it off the gate and each other.
Flocke prefers the ‘Open wide’ approach
Tala prefers to the ‘licky licky’ way
Tala … ‘cleaning the gate’
Flocke ….’cleaning up Tala’
The mother and her daughter feeling fine with each other.

There are Lake Polar Bear Monsters at Jimmy’s Farm, too ….. 🙂
If you wonder why there are not so many photos of Tala I can tell you there will be a Tala Special coming soon!
Dear Pat and Mervi
Flocke and Tala continue to get along though as with mothers and daughters in other zoos they may decide to part.
Dear Pat!
The ladies all look well-nourished – to put it mildly – and content. You can’t see any of the bad moods in the photos and I particularly like some of them: for example ‘Flocke by the lake side’ and the ‘Lake Polar Bear Monsters’. Thanks also for the humorous and affectionate captions.
I’m not surprised that all the bears have very individual preferences as to how they take their oil, as they each have their own personalities.
Thank you for showing us!
Hugs
Anke
Thank you very much dear Pat and Mervi.
Best wishes to Flocke and Tala.
Dear Pat and Mervi!
Flocke and Tala look wonderful and they have a lot of place in the enclosure. It is great to see them.
Hugs
Ludmila
