Cleveland Zoo – Part 2

16.9.2024 by Michelle Rippey

Wolf Wed with the Mexican Grey Wolves at the Cleveland Zoo. Wolf Wilderness Lodge is 3000 sq feet modeled after a 19th century trapper’s lodge. I happen to ❤️ wolves, so this was definitely a favorite of mine. Photos were tough due to the distance of the wolves. Here’s what I could get. ✌️❤️&🐺

Cleveland Zoo’s Mexican wolf pack consists of 6 females (sisters).

3 of the 6 were very visible.

This 🐺 ran a few laps as it was nearing the end of the day.

Though the 🐺 were mainly towards the back of the habitat you could still see them. Plenty of viewing windows inside the lodge.

Until next time 🐺s at the Cleveland Zoo!

  1. Dear Michelle,

the wolves look good, hopefully their enclosures are quite large.
I like wolves, but unfortunately they have a bad reputation because they were food competitors for humans.

Thanks for the lovely photos and best wishes!

  2. Dear Pat!
Thank you for your pictures and the second part of the zoo report about the wolves at Cleveland Zoo.
In German fairy tales, the wolf usually comes off badly, and in stories from other countries, too, he is often portrayed as a threat. It always depends on the perspective. On the one hand – on the other…
I really liked the polar wolves at Berlin Zoo, especially when they were raising little ones, and I can understand why wolves captured your heart.

  3. The pic “joined by another sister” seems to be the most fitting one for the starting autumn signs we have to realize in several of our neighbourhoods (I guess).

I like this slightly blurry shot which invites phantasy to fairy tale like thoughts 🙂

The wolves seem to be very slim in these photos. Hopefully that’s normal and a rather good sign . . .

    Thanks for rharing.

    PS:
After having watched the pics again and read the text once more I have to add a ‘Bravo’, as the wolves might have been fare away when Michelle Rippey pressed the button . . . 🙂

  4. Sorry Michelle!!
Sometimes it becomes obvious that I’m not quite mentally up to scratch and get things mixed up…
